The beginning of the year is a great time to clean house. Below is a short list of things you can do to get the year started off right.
Review the handbook and make sure it is up to date, legal, and most important, your company follows the policies.
If your handbook has policies that are not followed, consider revising them to meet your company’s philosophy or delete them.
2. Exempt positions
Review the job descriptions to make sure they are still exempt.
3. I-9 Forms
Do a random audit of your I-9 forms to make sure they are compliant. Also, destroy the old I-9s. There is no reason to carry that liability.
4. OSHA Form 300A
It is time to complete the form and get it posted by Feb 1. Also, remember that OSHA has added several industries to the list that must complete Form 300 and 300A.

5. Employment Agreement
Review them to make sure they reflect the current employment relationship, are they fully executed, etc.
